Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).

Mua’dh Ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, he heard Prophet Muhammed (SAW) saying that  there are two phrases (Kalimahs) La ilaaha il-lal-Allah (There is none worthy of worship besides Allah) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great!). Out of these, La ilaaha il-lal-Allah does not stop until it reachs Arsh (Throne of Allah (SWT)) and Allahu Akbar fills the gap between earth and sky with light or blessings of Allah.1

Here is an interesting point in another book of hadith, it extends that, when this hadith reached Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he confirmed (with the narrator of the hadith) if he has heard Prophet Muhammed (SAW) saying this. On confirmation by the narrator, Ibn Umar cried so much that his beard got wet with tears. Then Ibn Umar said, all my life I will be bonded with these two phrases and he used to recited them throughout the day. He also told everyone, since he has heard this hadith, he has got bonded with these two phrases.2

These are very simple phrases and easy to memorize. One can recite them while doing daily chores of life (like cooking, driving, resting etc.)

May Allah (SWT) grant us the ability to follow this.
