Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (May the peace, mercy,
and blessings of Allah be with you).
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to seek refuge from certain things. Below
is the du’a for that.
Advice: Everyone tries to save him/herself from
death but does not try to save him/herself from hell. Whereas, on trying a
person can save him/herself from hell but not from death.
May Allah grant us the ability to embrace these
advices and follow them.

Allahumma
inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la yanfau', wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min
nafsin la tashba'u,
wa min
da'watin la yustajabu laha'
(O
Allah! I seek refuge in You from the knowledge which is not beneficial, and
from a heart which does not fear (You), and from desire which is not
satisfied, and from prayer which is not answered.)
